RAND PAUL SAYS BEING FALSELY ACCUSED OF PLAGIARISM IS A DAY
THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY
by R J Shulman
WASHINGTON – (PTSD News Service) – Striking back at those
who have accused him for plagiarizing parts of his speeches and writing,
Senator Rand Paul said, “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up
and live the true meaning of its creed and stop criticizing me for speaking my
own mind just because someone may have said something like it first.”
Rand Paul denied any wrongdoing and said, “So you should all
ask not what plagiarism can do for you but what you can do for plagiarism. While I may have unwittingly used words
similar to ones spoken before, all I can say from the bottom of my heart in
these clearly original words is that to err is human, to forgive is divine
because God helps those who help themselves so hitch your wagon to a star
because fools rush in where angels fear to tread and never leave what you can
do today until tomorrow because early to bed and early to rise makes a man
healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Paul says he is preparing to officially dispel any notion
that he is a plagiarist on the Senate floor with a speech he is writing that he
calls “The Four Score and Seven Years Ago Address.”
